I don’t work with clients while they are in crisis. Not because I don’t want to help, but because crisis requires ground-level thinking for short term decisions, and the work we do requires high-level thinking for long-term decisions. It’s damn-near impossible to do both at the same time.

“Crisis” is hiring when you’re desperate because things are falling behind, when income is unstable, or you’re course correcting from an unexpected event. These things happen to every business. It’s normal, and you will get through it. It’s just not a good time to bring me on.

Ideally, call me before you’re in crisis. But the second best time is once you’ve stabilized and are ready to grow.
